The Jardin Tecina Hotel is situated on the Island of La Gomera, a 50 minute ferry ride from Los Cristianos (Tenerife). La Gomera is one of the seven islands that make up the Canary Islands, an idyllic paradise of subtropical climate between the African Continent and Spain. 

Built in 1987, and set in 70,000 square metres of extraordinary vegetation with more than 50 species of plants from all over the globe the Hotel Jardin Tecina is built on a hillside, designed in true Canarian Style and surrounded by paths bordered with beautiful gardens and surrounded by colourful flora and fauna.

The 434 rooms and suites are made up of traditional style bungalows, situated on 2 levels in small clusters around the resort each with a ‘signposted street’ leading to it. Five types of accommodation, from standard rooms with garden views, comfort rooms with side sea views, superior rooms with front sea views, junior suite with a separate sitting area, all of them with terrace or balcony & family duplex rooms.

There are five top quality restaurants at the Hotel Jardin Tecina, including the 5 star cuisine at the A-la-Carte restaurant, decorated with the Châine des Rotessieur medal and the Eurotoques medal.

A unique facility of the hotel is the lift that takes you through the cliffs to the hotel’s impressive beach club. From here you can also walk the 1km to the local village of Playa de Santaigo, which has small selection of restaurants and shops.

The Tecina golf course is a 5 minute walk from the hotel or you can take the hotel’s free shuttle service. The course was designed by Donald Steel and interestingly the first tee is a 5-10 minute buggy ride straight up hill from the clubhouse (the course take you to the 1st tee unless you hire a buggy). From here most of the holes run along plateaus with the occasional par 3 going straight downhill. Every hole provides stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and mountains and with generously wide fairways the courses challenging but doesn’t play too tough.   

AM’s Opinion

We stayed at the hotel and played the course in October 2015 and were really impressed with all the facilities. The hotel has a comfortable feel to it with friendly and attentive staff. The views of the sea and mountains are a feature of the whole resort which has a relaxing ambience. If you want to get away from the hurly-burley of modern day living then we are sure you will enjoy the Jardin Tecina.
