Date change for Portuguese Open at Penha Longa...

 
penha longa newsThe European Tour have announced that the Estoril Open de Portugal will now take place from the 10 - 13 June 2010. The event was previously scheduled to be played from the 1 - 4 April 2010.
 
The tournament is being staged on the Penha Longa Atlantic course which has recently
completed a €2 million refurbishment. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones jr and is situated in the Sintra Hills and is part of the Penha Longa Spa & Golf Resort, which is managed by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel company. The resort has hosted the event on two previous occasions, in 1994 it was won by Welshman Phillip Price and in 1995 by Scotsman Adam Hunter.
 
The owners of Penha Longa have welcomed the change of date as the event now avoids clashing with the Easter weekend.
