NEWSLETTER Click Here SicilyWhen you think of Sicily, you do not immediately think of golf, well, Sicily is fast becoming known for its excellent golf courses, with Verdura’s East and West courses leading the way, as host venue of the European Tour Sicilian Open 2012. Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, along with its surrounding minor islands; Egadi and Aeouan. Its location at the crossroads between Europe, Africa and the Middle East has attracted numerous cultures, all of which have left their mark on the island. As a result, it has art, architecture, traditions and language that overlap in a fascinating way. As part of Italy this is a place where food, families and festivities converge to create a warm and friendly welcome. With parts of the island on the same latitude as the North African coast, Sicily has a mild climate that makes it an attractive destination for much of the year; spring and autumn are sheer delight and though high summer (July and August) temperatures really do soar, sea breezes in coastal areas take the edge off the heat.
AM's Opinion With Sicily’s friendly atmosphere, fantastic food, wonderful wine and great golf, you will definitely want to return to this new golf destination. |
