“Home of the VOLVO World Match Play Championship”

Designed by Cabell Robinson and opened in 2006, Finca Cortesin shot to fame in 2009 when it became the venue of the VOLVO World Match Play Championship, formerly held at Wentworth.

From the Championship tees it’s a monster at 7500 yards, even from the white tees it’s long at around 7000 yards, however with a choice of two forward tees it can play a lot shorter. The first six holes are played in a small valley you then head over the hill, to play the remaining holes. Each hole has been cleverly sculptured from the rugged land, some giving view of the distant coast and Mediterranean sea. It’s a tough course but a fair one and the greens are some of the quickest you will ever experience.

Finca Cortesin is situated approximately 1 km off the A7, 90 km to the west of Malaga airport and 38 km to the east of Gibraltar.
